Leia watched Luke walk away. The knowledge that this cherished friend, with whom she had immediately bonded, is her twin brother, is tempered by the knowledge that there is a downside -- if Vader is indeed her twin's father, he is her father also... a revolting idea, but one that she must accept. She began to reflect on their brief meetings....
Aboard the Death Star, she had insulted him, suggesting that he needed a controlling hand by her words to General Tarkin: "...to find you holding Lord Vader's leash!" Her own father, how could she? The fact that she hadn't known didn't matter, she should have shown more respect. Bail and Breha had raised her with better manners than she had shown. She cringed inwardly.

When he had interrogated her, she had been obstinate and uncooperative, openly showing her contempt for the man. While still refusing to cooperate, she should have been more polite to him -- he was her father. But I didn't know that, she rationalized. Still....

No matter that it was a trap for Luke and they were the bait. She should have been more courteous to Lord Vader. He had even offered them a flight off Bespin in his own ship ... she hadn't bothered to say no, thank you. Of course, he had ordered, not asked, but she still flushed in embarrassment when recalling her rudeness....

And when Luke first told her that Vader was his father, she insulted the man again, not to his face, true, and not directly, but she had definitely referred to him in impolite terms. Poor Luke, having to deal with that knowledge, wanting to share and I insulted his newly found father! No excuses, there.

And now, Darth Vader was her father, also! How to deal with this? Numbly, she heard Han, saw him start to walk away, then turn back toward her. She went to him.
"Hold me." He lovingly embraced her. She had Han's love. In his arms she could face her true parentage, as shocking as that was. Bail Organa would always be the father of her heart, but....
